Rated in the Top 2% of world universities

UOW was placed in the top two per cent of universities in the world by its performance in the 2012/13 QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2012. These prestigious rankings compare universities across a range of important criteria, including research excellence.

One of the world’s best universities under 50 years old

UOW was ranked 33rd in the world (and equal first in Australia) in the Times Higher Education Top 100 Under 50 2012. UOW was also ranked 30th in the world in the 2012 QS Top 50 Under 50.

Thirteen years of graduate success

The 2013 Good Universities Guide marks the thirteenth year in a row that UOW has scored five stars in the categories of Getting a Job and Positive Graduate Outcomes. This shows UOW is a place where students not only get a five-star education, but a five-star chance of gaining a job at the end of their degree.

Top 100 for Employers

For the fifth year in a row, UOW is ranked in the top 100 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings Graduate Employers survey. This review rates institutions based on employers’ opinions of their graduates.

Number 1 for teaching excellence

In 2011, UOW is the only Australian university to be awarded the maximum 10 citations for outstanding contributions to student learning by the Australia Learning and Teaching Council. It is the third consecutive year that UOW has been placed in the top five. Additionally, UOW was one of only two universities to achieve top-tier status in every discipline of the 2008 Australian Government Learning and Teaching Performance Fund allocations.
