How do I get to UOW?

The Wollongong campus is situated three kilometres northwest of the centre of the City of Wollongong.  For information on how to travel to UOW, transport timetables and related information go to http://www.uow.edu.au/about/transport/
 

Train

The nearest rail service for the Wollongong campus is North Wollongong Station, which is located on the South Coast line.  The station, located in Porter Street North Wollongong, services the University with 51 southbound rail services and 45 northbound services each weekday. 
 
Trains run approximately every 20 minutes on weekdays during peak hours, and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours.  At night, and on weekends, trains run on a reduced timetable.  The free North Gong Shuttle runs between North Wollongong station and the main campus every 7 minutes during peak times and every 20 minutes in off-peak times. 
 
Alternatively, it is a 15-20 minute walk from North Wollongong Station to the main campus.
 

Bus

Buses are an easy and inexpensive option for travelling to Uni for all students.  There are a number of local bus operators providing service to the University, including Busways Campbelltown, Dion’s, Green’s Northern Coaches, Premier Illawarra and John J Hill.  Refer to each bus operator's website for timetables to and from the University.
 

Shuttle Buses

Gong Shuttle

Linking UOW with the Innovation Campus (iC), Campus East, North Wollongong beach, Wollongong CBD, Station, Hospital and Weerona College.  This free service also links to many other bus services around the Illawarra.

UOW Gwynneville/Keiraville Shuttle

Connects the UOW Ring Road to Keiraville, North-West Wollongong, Gwynneville and Smiths Hill, in an anticlockwise loop including Keiraview and Weerona Colleges. Run every 15 minutes 8am-10am and 4.30pm-6.30pm, then every 30 minutes from 6:30pm until the last bus leaves UOW just after 10pm. Operates during session and exam periods. 

UOW North Gong Shuttle

This links the UOW Ring Road and bus terminal to the train station and International House at North Wollongong. The shuttle meets most trains and runs every 10-20 minutes, 7.30am-9.45pm. The timetable includes a reduced service operating outside session and exam periods.The primary North Gong shuttle bus is wheelchair accessible.

Car

The Wollongong campus is nestled beside the F6 freeway, allowing easy access for travel by car or motorcycle.
 
From Sydney, proceed south along the F6 freeway and take the University / Gwynneville exit.
 
From southern NSW, proceed north along the F6 freeway towards Sydney and take the University exit.
