What is a major?

A major in a bachelor degree is an approved combination of subjects which have a minimum value of 48 credit points offered by one or more academic units and including 300 and/or 400 level subjects with a value of at least 24 cps which must be completed satisfactorily at pass level or better.

For some courses the degree major is explicit in the course title, for example Bachelor of Nursing, whilst in other courses you will need to select a major study from those available within the degree.  In many courses it is possible to do more than one major.  You do not have to select a major on enrolment day but you should regularly discuss your enrolment pattern with an academic adviser, throughout your studies, to ensure that you have selected the correct subjects for your intended major.
